Sheriff opens criminal investigation into Piedmont Memorial Park cemetery

The state Cemetery Commission ordered the operator to stop. The deadline passed with no response, FOX8 reported.

The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is investigating Piedmont Memorial Park cemetery in Greensboro, FOX8 reported. The North Carolina Cemetery Commission issued a cease-and-desist order Sept. 10, and FOX8 reported the deadline to respond passed without a reply from the operator.

No charges have been announced.
