Former detention officer charged with forging magistrates' signatures
Sheriff's Office says the forged forms could hold inmates up to 48 extra hours for immigration officers.

Michael Shaun Diehl Jr., 40, a former Guilford County detention officer, is charged with 20 felony counts of forgery, the Sheriff's Office announced. Investigators say he forged magistrates' signatures on court forms that can keep an inmate in jail for up to an additional 48 hours while waiting for federal immigration officers, the Rhino Times reported.
The Sheriff's Office said Diehl was fired and arrested. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
