Greensboro youth basketball sign-ups are open, but the city's dates don't match

Greensboro Parks and Recreation's winter youth basketball league is for ages 5 through 16, with age set as of Dec. 31. First-time players must register in person with a birth certificate and a Parent Association for Youth Sports (PAYS) membership.

The city's basketball webpage lists registration Sept. 15 through Nov. 30 for $75, and late registration from Dec. 1 for $80. The department's Fall 2026 Discover Greensboro guide lists early registration Sept. 8-30 for $50, regular registration Oct. 1-Nov. 15 for $75 and late registration Nov. 16-25 for $85.

The webpage also still carries a note about the 2024 season. Parents should confirm the deadline with their neighborhood recreation center or the athletics office at 336-373-2965 before counting on either date.
