Check your registration before Friday, Oct. 9

Regular registration closes at 5 p.m. Oct. 9. After that, you can still register and vote the same day during early voting.

The deadline to register to vote by the regular process is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Use the State Board of Elections voter search to confirm your registration, your address and your sample ballot.

Miss the deadline? Same-day registration is available at any early voting site from Oct. 15 through Oct. 31. Bring proof of residence. It is not available on Election Day.

North Carolina requires photo ID to vote. The State Board lists the accepted IDs and the exception forms for voters who don't have one.
