Information as of Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026.

The Board of Education adopted boundary changes June 10, 2025, after a public comment period and hearing. Madison, Vandalia and Washington elementary schools closed in June 2026, and their students were reassigned to nearby schools for 2026-27.

Southern Elementary stays open through 2026-27, or until Allen Jay and Sumner reopen. The district has address lookup tools for 2027-28 assignments.

The district says the board will decide whether to sell or repurpose the closed buildings. Watch board agendas for those votes.
